Loose Character

This is actually an old post (… rather, an old article) that got published in the Indian Express years back.  Wanted to start consolidating stuff that is scattered here and there in one place, as much as possible.  Luckily, this particular link is still alive…  But if you wish to continue reading my blog after that, you have to remember to click the “Back” button on your browser – else you will remain lost in the Indian Express site :-)

These days being “Loose” as your article says is the way English is written and spoken…Otherwise what is the justification when someone writes sterilization is all about sterilizing steam…(I am not joking). We have learnt to read in between lines my friend…It is all about communicating that matters the most..Spellings are too minor a thing to bother;though at the end of it all i wonder whether it is retrogressive metamorphosis we are all going through.
